In London Saturday night, Cheavon Clarke made it clear he owns Chris Billam-Smith at the professional level, stopping him once again under the Zuffa Boxing banner. Clarke was dominant from the jump, and Da'Mazion Vanhouter added another impressive performance to what's becoming a very compelling card for the promotion's future.
Shifting to college football, South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers turned in one of the gutsiest performances of the weekend. The junior went to the locker room at halftime with an ankle injury, came back out, and still found a way to break off a forty-one-yard touchdown run — limping across the goal line — to seal a seventeen to nine comeback win over Texas A&M and keep the number twenty-one Gamecocks rolling.
And over in Manchester, Willy Hutchinson is your new WBC light-heavyweight champion. The twenty-eight-year-old Scotsman avenged his two thousand twenty-four loss to Joshua Buatsi with a career-best performance, taking the decision on scores of one seventeen to one twelve and one fifteen to one thirteen twice. Buatsi had been considered the frontrunner heading in, but Hutchinson had other plans entirely.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
