You're locked in to Sports Desk, let's get into it.
In the CFL, the Eastern Final is underway as the Montreal Alouettes welcome the Winnipeg Blue Bombers to town. This is the road to the Grey Cup, and both clubs know exactly what's at stake. Follow every drive, every big play, on the Sportsnet live tracker as the action unfolds.
Shifting to the ice, Tom Wilson is at the center of controversy after Washington's enforcer laid a boarding hit on Florida's Sandis Vilmanis that left the Panthers forward shaken. Wilson drew a major penalty and a game misconduct, and you can expect the league's department of player safety to be taking a very close look at that one come Monday morning.
And in a story that blurs every line between sports and politics, President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to offer the White House press secretary position to UFC chief executive Dana White. Trump called him, quote, a violent fighter and warrior, and said he's requested White bring along an assistant. Whether White accepts or declines, this one is going to generate conversation well beyond the sports world.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
