Welcome to Sports Desk, let's get into it.
Caleb Williams is making noise on and off the field. The Chicago Bears rookie dropped a two-word Instagram post after dismantling the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football in Week eight, and the confidence is absolutely justified. Williams looks like the real deal, and Bears fans are starting to believe.
Shifting to college football, that Ohio State and Oregon matchup on November seventh is losing some of its luster at the box office. Ticket prices have actually dropped since the season opened, and honestly it makes sense — the Buckeyes are sitting at six and two after dropping one to USC, while Oregon is five and three with losses to Oklahoma State, UCLA, and Illinois. Both teams are also starting backup quarterbacks. This one went from marquee to question mark fast.
And Russell Wilson is making a move nobody saw coming. The former Super Bowl champion interviewed for the head coaching vacancy at North Carolina State on Tuesday, returning to the program where he played from two thousand seven to two thousand ten before transferring to Wisconsin. Wilson only retired in June and already has a CBS analyst role, but apparently the coaching bug bit hard and fast.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
