Welcome to Sports Desk, let's get into it.
Buffalo made it official today, cutting C.J. Gardner-Johnson after his one-game suspension for spitting wrapped up. The Bills didn't hesitate — the moment that suspension ended, so did his time in western New York. It's a hard fall for a veteran safety who simply couldn't keep it together when it mattered most.
Shifting to the desert, there's a growing conversation around Kyler Murray and whether that hamstring issue is as serious as Arizona is letting on. The whispers around the league suggest this could be less about injury management and more about the Cardinals quietly pulling the plug on a disappointing stretch of play. When teams start hedging on injury specifics, you pay attention.
And on the business side of the league, the Giants made a significant mid-season commitment, locking up a former Browns and Jaguars cornerback on a forty-six million dollar extension. New York doesn't hand out that kind of money without conviction, and this signals the front office believes they're building something real in the secondary heading into the stretch run.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
