A tragic note out of New York — twenty-four-year-old Rachel Apa collapsed during the New York City Marathon on Sunday and passed away, just two miles short of the finish line in Central Park. Her father had been texting with her throughout the race, and she told him after nine miles she was feeling great. A heartbreaking loss that has shaken the running community deeply.
Shifting to the Champions League, and Barcelona put on a clinic at home, dismantling Aston Villa three-nil in dominant fashion. Lamine Yamal opened the scoring, then Raphinha took over with two goals to seal it, ending Villa's perfect start to the competition. Barcelona look dangerous, and Raphinha right now is playing some of the best football of his career.
And what a night at Old Trafford — Manchester United were dreadful in the first half against Roma, then flipped the script entirely. Matheus Cunha led a furious three-goal second-half comeback to win three-two in a match that was as chaotic as it sounds. Bruno Fernandes afterward made it clear the players aren't playing to save anyone's job — they're playing for themselves. Whether that's reassuring or alarming for the manager is a question worth asking.
