Cleveland came into Tampa and took care of business. The Guardians beat the Rays seven to three in Game one of the ALCS, with Chase DeLauter and Patrick Bailey going deep off Drew Rasmussen. Then Nathaniel Lowe delivered the knockout blow, a tiebreaking two-run single in the eighth that put it out of reach. Cleveland looked composed, clinical, and dangerous.
Meanwhile, in the NLCS, the Dodgers are in real trouble. Milwaukee took Game two seven to four, putting Los Angeles in a two-games-to-none hole heading back to Dodger Stadium. The Brewers are two wins from their first pennant in forty-four years, and the Dodgers are actually weighing whether to bench Shohei Ohtani in Game three. That is not a sentence anyone expected to say this October.
And in the NFL, the Bills are celebrating after one of the wilder finishes of Week five. Greg Rousseau burst through the line and blocked what would have been the Rams' game-winning field goal in overtime, and Tyler Bass came through on the other end to send Buffalo home with the win. Rousseau was everywhere on that play.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
