Detroit sent a message to the rest of the Eastern Conference Tuesday afternoon. The Pistons trailed Boston by twenty-two points heading into the fourth quarter, then went on an absolutely suffocating twenty-three to nothing run to close it out, one hundred twenty-one to one thirteen. Little Caesars Arena erupted, and the Celtics left town with a loss that will sting for a while.
Shifting to Philadelphia, the NFL has decided the Eagles will not face punishment for how they handled Jalen Hurts' blood clot diagnosis. The league reviewed the situation and stepped back, even as public criticism of the organization has been loud and sustained. Hurts' health remains the central concern, but the Eagles avoid any formal discipline from the front office.
And out in Los Angeles, the Rams are now on their third kicker in two weeks. Brandon McManus, a thirteen-year veteran, signed Tuesday after Blake Grupe tore a knee ligament on a kickoff tackle in his very first game. Harrison Mevis was cut just before that. At two and four, the Rams need stability at every position, and right now the kicking game is anything but settled.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
