Shifting to the gridiron, Arizona Cardinals rookie running back Jeremiyah Love is headed to injured reserve with a high-ankle sprain, expected to miss four to five weeks. Head coach Mike LaFleur confirmed it's a different ankle than the one that bothered Love during training camp. The Doak Walker Award winner out of Notre Dame was showing real promise in his first NFL season before this setback.
And up in Edmonton, the Oilers are dealing with a concern of their own. Head coach Mike Babcock confirmed Tuesday that young forward Isaac Howard is week-to-week with a lower-body injury. Babcock struck a cautiously optimistic tone, saying Howard is doing better and could return sooner than expected, but with no firm timetable, Oilers fans are watching this one closely.
