In college football, Appalachian State ended James Madison's perfect season in dramatic fashion Thursday night. James London drilled a forty-yard field goal in overtime to hand the Mountaineers the win, and just like that, the FBS is down to five unbeaten teams remaining. Somebody had to go.
Meanwhile in Philadelphia, the Sixers pulled off one of the most stunning comebacks you'll see all season. Tyrese Maxey poured in thirty-two points and Joel Embiid added twenty-four as the Sixers erased a twenty-nine point deficit to stun Cleveland one fourteen to one oh six. LeBron James chipped in seventeen points and ten boards in the biggest comeback win of his career, and he's already making Philly believers out of a notoriously tough crowd.
LeBron's night wasn't just about basketball though. Donald Trump took to social media to call James a, quote, total disgrace, after footage showed him doing warm-up movements during the national anthem. James fired back with a single sarcastic line, calling it a slow news day at the office. The crowd in Philly seemed to agree, giving him a standing ovation after the comeback victory.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
