Thursday Night Football delivered a winner, and Chicago was the city celebrating. Caleb Williams threw for three hundred eight yards and two touchdowns as the Bears knocked off the New England Patriots thirty to twenty four. Luther Burden the Third was a weapon all night, and while Chicago never trailed, they never made it easy either — holding on through the final whistle to snap New England's winning streak.
Meanwhile in Nashville, the Predators are doing some serious soul-searching after getting blanked six to nothing by the Boston Bruins at TD Garden. Head coach Andrew Brunette said his team simply forgot to play hockey, and the numbers back that up — it was Nashville's worst margin of defeat in nearly two years. David Pastrnak and Charlie McAvoy each put up four points, and the Bruins made it look effortless.
And out west, the Golden State Warriors are gearing up for a matchup against a Grizzlies team that looks nothing like it did a year ago. Memphis dealt Ja Morant in the offseason and is rebuilding its identity, but that doesn't mean Golden State can afford to sleepwalk through this one as they try to find their footing early in the season.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
