The Oklahoma City Thunder are in a fight before they even tip off. Spanish club Casademont Zaragoza is contesting the NBA eligibility of Thunder rookie center Aday Mara, claiming the lottery pick remains under contract with them. Oklahoma City is pushing back hard, insisting Mara is cleared to play, but this one could get messy fast.
Meanwhile, the Lakers front office drama is spilling into Los Angeles Superior Court. Five of the Buss siblings filed additional legal paperwork Friday challenging sister Jeanie Buss and her petition to remove them as trustees. The family feud over one of the most storied franchises in basketball is very much alive, and it does not appear to be cooling down anytime soon.
On the football side, the Browns are getting some good news heading into Sunday's matchup with Baltimore. Rookie wide receiver KC Concepcion has cleared concussion protocol and is set to play. The Ravens, however, are dealing with their own injury cloud, with Lamar Jackson reportedly unavailable again for Week six, which could shift the entire complexion of that AFC North showdown.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
