Shohei Ohtani silenced every doubter in Los Angeles last night, snapping a nearly two-month home run drought with a Game four blast that had Dodger Stadium absolutely electric. The timing could not have been more dramatic, and it served as a reminder that the most dangerous version of Ohtani is never far away.
Shifting to college football, the CFP and ESPN are deep in negotiations over a significant expansion proposal that could push the playoff field from twelve teams all the way to twenty-four. The current twelve-team format may not even survive a full cycle before it gets overhauled, and that is a seismic shift for how college football crowns its champion going forward.
And on the transfer portal front, Duke head coach Manny Diaz is floating the idea of charging players a fee to enter the portal, a proposal that is already generating serious debate across the sport. With roster management becoming one of the biggest challenges in college football, Diaz is clearly pushing for the NCAA to put some friction back into the process.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
