You're tuned in to Sports Desk, let's get you caught up.
The biggest story in college football this weekend has BYU written all over it. The eighth-ranked Cougars traveled to face second-ranked Notre Dame and pulled off an absolute stunner, winning twenty-eight to twenty-four on the final play of the game — a defensive stop right in the end zone. BYU moves to six and oh, and Notre Dame drops its first loss of the season in gut-wrenching fashion.
And the ripple effects don't stop there. With five of the top seven teams in the country falling this weekend — the most chaos in the AP Top Twenty-Five era since nineteen thirty-six — bowl projections have been completely shredded and rebuilt overnight. The postseason picture looks nothing like it did seven days ago, and the playoff race just got wildly unpredictable heading into the back half of the season.
Meanwhile in Kentucky, the Wildcats are not letting up. Rolling into Norman, they knocked off Oklahoma and kept their hot streak very much alive. Defensive back Ty Bryant sealed the deal with a fourth-quarter interception, and Kentucky is firmly planting its flag as one of the most dangerous teams in college football right now.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
