Tampa Bay is in trouble. Junior Caminero and the Rays dropped Game Three to the Guardians, striking out thirteen times in the process — four of those belonging to Caminero alone. The young third baseman kept it short and direct afterward, saying he'll make adjustments for the next game, plain and simple. The Rays better hope he means it.
Shifting to the ice, the Toronto Maple Leafs have made a move, acquiring center Aatu Räty after he cleared waivers, sending Jacob Quillan and Brandon Buhr to Vancouver to get the deal done. Räty brings youth and upside to a Leafs roster always looking for that next piece, and Toronto will be counting on him to find his footing fast.
And in college football, the landscape is about to get dramatically bigger. The CFP is closing in on a deal with ESPN to expand from twelve teams all the way to twenty-four, potentially in place as soon as next season. Critics say the current format works, and they're not wrong — but the money and momentum behind this push are simply too strong to stop.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
