Tampa Bay is all squared up in the American League Championship Series after Freddy Peralta delivered one of the quieter gems you'll see in October baseball. Six scoreless innings, four hits allowed, and the Rays doing the rest when Jose Ramirez booted a routine play in the fourth, letting Liam Hicks punch in two runs with a single to seal a three to one win and even the series at one apiece heading to Cleveland for Game three Thursday.
And while Peralta was locking down the mound, Junior Caminero was putting on a show in the field, robbing Steven Kwan of a hit and breaking out the Dikembe Mutombo finger wag in tribute to the late NBA legend. It was the kind of moment that shifts energy in a playoff series, and the Rays are clearly feeling themselves right now.
Shifting to the ice, Connor Bedard made his season debut for Chicago and the Blackhawks made it count, dropping the Penguins five to three. Bedard chipped in an assist, but it was Teuvo Teravainen and Roman Kantserov doing the heavy lifting with two goals apiece in a statement win for a franchise still building toward something real.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
