Yoshinobu Yamamoto was absolutely untouchable Tuesday night, striking out ten Braves across seven dominant innings as the Los Angeles Dodgers grabbed a two-to-one series lead in the NLDS. Kiké Hernández did the damage with a two-run shot, and Los Angeles is now one win away from the NLCS.
Meanwhile in San Diego, the Padres faced elimination in Game three without their most important weapon. Closer Mason Miller was placed on the paternity list just before first pitch, leaving the bullpen shorthanded in a game they simply could not afford to lose. When your best arm isn't available in an elimination game, the margin for error disappears entirely.
And a story with serious weight off the field — Tyreek Hill's estranged wife Lakeeta Vaccaro Hill took the stand Tuesday on day one of a civil assault-and-battery trial in Florida, alleging Hill attempted to strike her stomach while she was pregnant in July two thousand twenty four. The proceedings began just one day after reports surfaced that Hill could be signing a new NFL contract soon. This trial is far from over.
