In the NHL, the Winnipeg Jets pulled off one of the wilder sequences you'll see this season. Pittsburgh's Declan Carlile tied it at two apiece late in the third, and before anyone in that arena could exhale, Cole Perfetti answered with a wrist shot just nine seconds later. Jets win three to two, and that turnaround is going to be on highlight reels for a while.
Over in Tampa, Andrei Vasilevskiy added another chapter to his legacy, stopping thirteen shots as the Lightning rolled past the winless Flyers four to one. That win was number three hundred seventy two for Vasilevskiy, pulling him into a tie with Andy Moog for twentieth place all time in NHL wins. The big Russian is closing in on history, and right now Tampa looks sharp doing it.
And in the ALDS, the White Sox are making a serious statement. Chicago took a two games to nothing series lead over the Guardians, beating Cleveland at their own style of baseball — grinding, disciplined, winning the small moments. For a franchise that has been through some dark stretches, this October run is something their fans will remember regardless of what comes next.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
