The Yankees and Rays are deep into a wild Game two of the ALDS down in St. Petersburg, and New York is making it harder on themselves than it needs to be. Three errors in the first inning with Cam Schlittler on the mound, though the ace limited the damage to just one run. Then in the second, rookie Spencer Jones launches a ball that clips the Tropicana Field catwalk, only to watch Victor Mesa Junior squeeze it for an out. Sloppy and strange, but the Yankees are still alive.
Shifting to the injury front, and the Minnesota Vikings are staring down a nightmare on their offensive line. Donovan Jackson is likely done for the season, and star left tackle Christian Darrisaw is now in concussion protocol. That is two critical pieces gone from a unit that Minnesota desperately needs healthy to protect their offense and keep their season on track.
And staying with injuries, the Philadelphia Eagles took a pair of significant hits as well. Running back Tank Bigsby is headed to injured reserve after sustaining a core muscle injury that requires surgery, and with Saquon Barkley already week-to-week, the Eagles backfield is suddenly very thin heading deeper into the season.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
