You're tuned in to Sports Desk, let's get into it.
Max Verstappen reminded the Formula One world exactly who he is, putting his Red Bull on pole position at the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia — the first pole of two thousand twenty six for both driver and team. He went nearly three tenths of a second faster than Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton, with championship leader Kimi Antonelli back in fourth. A statement lap from the four-time champion when it mattered most.
Shifting to baseball, the postseason is officially open for business. The Los Angeles Dodgers host the Atlanta Braves in Game One of their National League Division Series today, and the energy around that matchup is exactly what October baseball is supposed to feel like. Two powerhouse rosters, a packed Dodger Stadium, and a first pitch that cannot come soon enough for fans on both sides.
And over in the other NLDS bracket, the Milwaukee Brewers take on the San Diego Padres in their own Game One today, while in the American League, the Cleveland Guardians open against the Chicago White Sox. Three playoff series kicking off on the same day — this is the stretch of the calendar that makes the whole regular season worth it.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
