You're tuned in to Sports Desk, let's get into it.
Philadelphia is buzzing and the scrimmage footage proves why — LeBron James and Jaylen Brown took the floor together for the first time in front of fans who lined up ten-deep just to catch a glimpse of what this new-look Seventy-Sixers roster could become. And LeBron himself weighed in on Joel Embiid, saying the big man's health right now is noticeably better than where he was heading into last season — a massive development for a franchise that needs Embiid whole if any of this is going to work.
Shifting to baseball, the Dodgers made a bold roster move ahead of their National League Division Series against Atlanta, adding outfield prospect Josue De Paula to the playoff mix. De Paula only made his major league debut three weeks ago, but Los Angeles clearly likes what they've seen, and now this kid gets to prove himself on the biggest stage the regular season can offer.
And in college football, Houston quarterback Conner Weigman put on a second-half clinic, rushing for three touchdowns to erase a seventeen-to-nothing deficit and lift the twentieth-ranked Cougars past UCF twenty-seven to seventeen. Weigman finished with two hundred thirty-nine passing yards and fifty rushing yards — a complete performance when his team needed it most.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
