You're tuned in to Sports Desk, let's get right to it.
Justin Jefferson's Sunday came to an abrupt and painful end. The Vikings star receiver went down in the first quarter against the Buccaneers with a left ankle injury and was quickly ruled out for the rest of the game. Losing Jefferson at any point is a significant blow to Minnesota's offense, and the timing couldn't be worse.
On the diamond, Philadelphia finally exhaled. The Phillies beat the Tampa Bay Rays seven to three on Sunday, with Bryce Harper and company punching their ticket to October as the National League's final wild-card team. It came down to the last day of the regular season, but the Phillies delivered when the margin for error had completely vanished.
And over in golf, the Americans made it eleven straight. The United States claimed another Presidents Cup title thanks to clutch back-nine performances from Collin Morikawa and twenty-one-year-old rookie Jackson Koivun. Morikawa, a two-time major champion, brought the experience, and Koivun brought something you simply cannot manufacture — ice in the veins on the biggest stage of his young career.
