Meanwhile in baseball, two big-name players worked their way back through the minor leagues on Saturday. Carlos Rodon made his first rehab start for Triple-A Scranton, tossing two and two-thirds innings, striking out four, but surrendering three runs including a leadoff shot on his very first pitch of the outing. Not exactly the confidence booster the Yankees were looking for, but he's on the mound and that matters.
Over in the American League, Red Sox catcher Adley Rutschman got his rehab assignment underway with Triple-A Worcester, hitting leadoff after missing time with wrist inflammation. Boston paid a serious price to acquire the three-time All-Star, and every at-bat he takes in the minors gets him one step closer to a lineup that desperately needs his presence.
