The Indiana Fever's Saturday win over the Chicago Sky came with plenty of drama on both ends. DiJonai Carrington was hit with a Flagrant Two and ejected after a hard foul that caught Sophie Cunningham across the face and neck in the first quarter. It was a physical afternoon in Chicago.
And speaking of that game, Caitlin Clark picked up her eighth technical foul of the season, which under WNBA rules would trigger an automatic one-game suspension. But the league may not let it stand. Reports indicate officials are reviewing whether to rescind the call after Clark made incidental contact with a referee. If the tech gets wiped, Clark suits up Tuesday at home against the New York Liberty. If it holds, Indiana faces the Liberty without their biggest star.
Meanwhile in baseball, the Atlanta Braves and their manager had a rough afternoon in New York. Walt Weiss was tossed in the fifth inning after arguing a balk call charged to ace Chris Sale during a game against the Yankees. Weiss clearly felt the call was wrong, and he made sure the umpires heard about it before heading back to the clubhouse early.
