Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns combined for sixty points Saturday night and that was all New York needed, as the Knicks walked into Cleveland and handed the Cavaliers a one-oh-nine to ninety-seven loss. Brunson ran the offense with precision, Towns punished the paint, and the Cavs had no real answer for either of them.
Meanwhile in Oklahoma City, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander put up thirty points and nine assists as the Thunder dismantled the Washington Wizards one-fourteen to seventy-five. OKC held Washington to just twenty-nine percent shooting in the first half, and it never got close. Jared McCain chipped in nineteen and Aday Mara added eighteen with three blocks off the bench.
And up in Montreal, Alex Newhook took over early. The Canadiens forward scored twice in the first period and Jacob Fowler was sharp between the pipes, as Montreal knocked off the Toronto Maple Leafs four to two on Saturday. Newhook has quietly been one of the more consistent forwards in that lineup, and tonight he made sure the Habs left with two points.
