Quentin Lake made the rounds this week, reaching out to Justin Herbert to apologize for some pointed comments he made earlier in the offseason, calling Herbert "deli meat" and suggesting the quarterback was "seeing ghosts" under pressure. Lake cleared the air directly, and Herbert, by all accounts, accepted it. Professional move from both men.
Meanwhile in Baltimore, Derrick Henry isn't going anywhere. The Ravens have told the running back in no uncertain terms that they have zero intention of trading him, squashing any speculation that had been quietly building around the league. Henry is under contract, he's been productive, and the Ravens want to keep their ground game exactly where it is.
And out in Cleveland, the Browns are a legitimate surprise story at five and three heading into Week nine against the Saints. New coaching staff, youngest roster in the league, no clear-cut quarterback, and they traded away one of their best defenders in the summer. None of that stopped them. Whether this holds is the real question, but right now they are ahead of every reasonable projection made in August.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
