You're locked in to Sports Desk, let's get into it.
The Braves are rebuilding their brain trust in a big way. Atlanta is set to bring Perry Minasian back into the fold as a senior advisor in amateur scouting, reuniting him with Dana Brown, who rejoined the organization just last week in the same capacity. Both men were high-ranking Braves staffers before moving on, and now Atlanta is pulling experience back home.
Shifting to the gridiron, the Los Angeles Chargers remain the only winless team in the NFL at zero and seven heading into week nine. Head coach Jim Harbaugh, the man brought in to turn this franchise around, is leaning on honesty as his motivational cornerstone. He says the team has been accountable, but accountability without wins is a cold comfort when you're sitting alone at the bottom.
And in the octagon, Ilia Topuria is talking. The lightweight champion survived his title defense against Justin Gaethje back in June and now El Matador has his eyes locked on Paddy Pimblett for a bout in April. Topuria says the Gaethje fight liberated him, and if that's what a close call does to his mindset, Pimblett might want to think carefully about accepting that invitation.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
