You're locked in to Sports Desk, let's get into it.
History was made in Mexico City as twenty-year-old Kimi Antonelli clinched his maiden Formula One World Championship title in just his second season in the sport. The young Italian is a champion, and the images coming out of that celebration are something else entirely.
His Mercedes teammate George Russell, meanwhile, has been candid about what a brutal two thousand twenty six campaign it's been for him personally. Russell's emotional post reflects a driver who gave everything and watched the title go to the guy in the other garage. Gracious, honest, and clearly not done fighting.
Shifting to the hardwood, Marcus Smart made his return to the Boston Garden spotlight in the worst way possible for Celtics fans, as his Houston Rockets handed Boston a one hundred nine to ninety three defeat. Smart was disruptive all night, and his performance helped expose some real defensive breakdowns that the Celtics cannot afford to ignore this early in the season.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
