You're tuned in to Sports Desk, let's get into it.
We start with a heartbreaking story out of Spanish football, where Tenerife striker Jesus de Miguel has died following an on-field collision during a second-division match. The football world is in mourning, and tributes are pouring in from across the sport. There are simply no words adequate for a moment this devastating.
Shifting to the Premier League, and West Ham's turbulent fall from grace continues. Nuno Espirito Santo has been sacked as head coach after a dismal start to the Championship season. The Hammers, widely tipped for an immediate return to the top flight following last season's relegation, currently sit well off the automatic promotion pace. A brutal end for Nuno.
And in the Premier League transfer picture, Harry Kane is pumping the brakes on any Manchester United speculation. The England captain has acknowledged there have been, quote, good conversations, but all signs point to the striker remaining out of reach for the Red Devils heading into two thousand twenty seven. United's attacking woes look set to continue.
