You're tuned in to Sports Desk, let's get after it.
Andy Reid is furious, and honestly, it's hard to blame him. Patrick Mahomes hit Rashee Rice for what looked like a walk-off touchdown as the clock hit zero, giving Kansas City a thirty to twenty-eight win over Denver. Then the flag came out — a borderline false start on number seventy-seven — and just like that, the celebration was over. Reid made clear after the game he had serious problems with the call, and the football world is right there with him.
Shifting gears to Martinsville, William Byron put on a clinic Sunday, winning the Xfinity five hundred and giving Hendrick Motorsports a one-two finish with Chase Elliott right behind him. Byron controlled the five-hundred-lap race from the front and held off his own teammate down the stretch to grab his first Cup Series victory of two thousand twenty-six. Hendrick is rolling right now, and Byron looked every bit like a championship-level driver.
And up in New York, Connor McDavid reminded everyone why he sits alone at the top of the hockey world. The Oilers superstar scored a goal and extended his record season-opening assists streak to fifteen straight games, powering Edmonton past the Rangers four to one. On his very first shift, McDavid did things with a puck that simply should not be possible.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
