In Los Angeles, the Lakers are heading into Wednesday's clash with the Clippers without their two biggest weapons. Luka Doncic, the NBA's leading scorer, is out with a back injury, and starter Ziaire Williams won't suit up either due to a foot issue. The Clippers will also be shorthanded, missing Rui Hachimura with a quad problem — so this one's got backup unit written all over it.
Shifting to the hardwood's newest face, AJ Dybantsa made his NBA debut Wednesday night for the Washington Wizards against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The number one overall pick in June's draft had been sidelined four games with a sprained ankle, but the six-foot-nine forward was in the starting lineup, though on a minutes restriction. Coach Brian Keefe wants him to soak it in — the real evaluation starts now.
And over in Green Bay, Jordan Love is putting the run game on notice. Josh Jacobs returned from the commissioner's exempt list last Sunday but managed just thirty-six yards on eleven carries in a twenty to seventeen loss to Detroit. The Packers' ground game isn't getting it done, and Love is clearly tired of waiting for it to wake up.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
