Giannis Antetokounmpo is operating on a different level to start this season. Seventy-one points through just two games, including thirty-six on Friday night, and yet somehow the conversation around him involves optimism for a Miami Heat squad that has yet to win a single game. Giannis says he believes they'll figure it out. The numbers suggest he's doing his part.
Meanwhile in Boston, Jayson Tatum is tired of the questions. After Jaylen Brown dropped a loaded Instagram comment following his trade to Philadelphia, Tatum addressed it head-on, telling reporters this is not Shaq and Kobe, and he means that. Nine years, one championship, now separate cities. Tatum wants to move forward. Whether Brown does remains to be seen.
And over in MotoGP, Marc Marquez is back on top of the standings after a stunning sprint race victory at Phillip Island. Title rival Jorge Martin didn't just lose ground, he lost the race entirely after crashing out of their duel and being stretchered off the circuit. Martin's fitness is now a serious concern with the championship on the line.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
