The NBA general managers have spoken, and San Antonio is their pick to hoist the Larry O'Brien trophy this season. Victor Wembanyama swept the projections, with GMs forecasting him to claim both MVP and Defensive Player of the Year. If that happens, it wouldn't just be a title — it would be a statement that the Wemby era has fully arrived.
Shifting to Philadelphia, the Eagles have a real problem heading into Sunday. Jalen Hurts has been ruled out against the Panthers after the team announced he's dealing with a superficial blood clot in his calf. That puts Tanner McKee under center for what would be the most significant start of his young NFL career, and the Eagles will need to rally around him fast.
And off the field in Green Bay, Packers running back Josh Jacobs has filed a civil lawsuit seeking a permanent injunction to block public access to records and video tied to a May twenty third altercation with a woman. The suit is asking for a full restriction on those materials, and this situation is one the league will be watching closely.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
