Jose Ramirez is doing what Jose Ramirez does in October — making it look easy. The veteran third baseman has been the pulse of Cleveland's postseason run, bringing a calm, almost defiant confidence to the lineup that the entire Guardians roster is feeding off. When the moment gets big, Ramirez gets bigger, and right now Cleveland is rolling.
Speaking of rolling, the LCS is delivering on day five, and the story nobody saw coming is Milwaukee. The Brewers are on the doorstep of a sweep against the Dodgers in Los Angeles, while Game three gets underway in Cleveland between the Guardians and the Rays. Two series, two completely different vibes — and October baseball is absolutely delivering.
Away from the diamond, there's a shakeup brewing in the Monday Night Football booth. Troy Aikman confirmed he's in the final year of his contract with ESPN, putting his future alongside Joe Buck very much in question. Greg Olsen's name is already surfacing as a potential replacement, which means one of the more established broadcast partnerships in the game could be heading for a split sooner than anyone expected.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
