Lamar Jackson missing practice again in Baltimore is raising real alarm bells. The Ravens quarterback sat out Wednesday's session for the second straight time as he battles an ankle injury, and with Cleveland on the horizon, coach Jesse Minter is giving nothing away. A Baltimore offense without Lamar is a completely different equation.
Meanwhile in Philadelphia, the Eagles are catching a break on the injury front. The team opened twenty-one-day practice windows for Landon Dickerson and three other players, giving a roster battered by a three-game losing streak some much-needed reinforcements. Whether it translates to wins is another question, but at minimum, the Eagles have options again.
And in women's soccer, U.S. Soccer just dropped a major announcement — the Crest Cup, a brand new women's competition featuring record prize money. This is the kind of structural investment the women's game has been pushing for, and it signals that the momentum behind women's soccer in this country isn't slowing down anytime soon. The stakes are getting bigger by the season.
