Igor Shesterkin's night ended in a frightening way Friday in Washington, as the Rangers' Vezina Trophy-winning goaltender had to be helped off the ice after an awkward fall into his own net against the Capitals. The thirty-year-old's status is unknown, and for a Rangers team that leans heavily on him, this is a situation worth watching very closely.
Shifting to baseball, the Dodgers have set their rotation for the NLCS with Tarik Skubal getting the Game One nod and Yoshinobu Yamamoto lined up for Game Two. Los Angeles is loading up with serious arms, and the pressure on both pitchers to deliver in October could not be higher.
And in the WNBA, the Atlanta Dream are heading to the Finals for the first time since two thousand thirteen after sweeping the New York Liberty in three games. Angel Reese dropped twenty-two points and Rhyne Howard added twenty-one in the clincher. Atlanta will face either the Golden State Valkyries or the Las Vegas Aces when the Finals tip off October seventeenth.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
