In Kansas City, the Chiefs took a double hit at wide receiver against the Raiders on Sunday. Rashee Rice went down in the first quarter with a right hamstring injury and was ruled doubtful to return, and then Tyquan Thornton was carted off in the fourth quarter after a gruesome injury on what had been a career day — five catches, one hundred eleven yards, two touchdowns before it all came to a stop. Patrick Mahomes is going to need some help at receiver moving forward.
Shifting to San Francisco, Brock Purdy and the forty-niners are a perfect four and zero after a twenty-four to fourteen win over the Denver Broncos. It was a defensive grind for the first thirty minutes, but Purdy eventually cracked the code, and Bo Nix couldn't manufacture another late comeback. This team is starting to look like the real deal again.
And what a homecoming for CeeDee Lamb in Houston. The Cowboys receiver caught seventeen passes for one hundred eighty-nine yards and hauled in the game-winning touchdown with forty seconds left, right in front of a stands full of family. Lamb said it meant everything, and you could see it.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
