Jackson Chourio is the name you need to know tonight. The Milwaukee Brewers outfielder stepped up with two outs in the ninth, two runs down, and ripped a walk-off single off Padres closer Mason Miller to give Milwaukee a two-nothing series lead in the NLDS. That is back-to-back dramatic wins for the Brewers, and San Diego is in serious trouble.
Meanwhile in the NFL, the league is reviewing an incident from Sunday's Cardinals-Giants matchup where an official apparently directed profanity at Arizona tight end Trey McBride during the game. The NFL says it is actively looking into the matter, which is about as unusual as it gets — officials cursing at players is not exactly in the rulebook, and you can bet the league wants this resolved quickly and quietly.
And in Cincinnati, Joe Burrow dropped back fifty-eight times in Sunday's loss to Jacksonville and his answer to questions about offensive balance was simple — throw it more. The Bengals mustered just thirteen designed runs for eighteen yards, but Burrow is not asking for a heavier ground game. He wants the ball in his hands. Whether that philosophy holds up is the question.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
