Joe Mixon may be lacing them back up. The veteran running back, who last saw action in January, is traveling to Seattle today for a workout with the Seahawks on Monday. Jay Glazer broke the news, and a cryptic social media post from Mixon over the weekend had people reading between the lines. Seattle needs backfield help, and Mixon needs a stage.
Shifting to the diamond, Game two of the National League Division Series has a compelling pitching matchup on tap. Milwaukee sends out a promising young arm while San Diego counters with Michael King, who posted a three point two one ERA across thirty-two starts this season, striking out one hundred fifty-nine batters in one hundred eighty-five innings. This one at American Family Field has the makings of a tight, low-scoring battle.
And Odell Beckham Junior is finally speaking out after the Giants cut him loose. OBJ said he shoulda known better, and acknowledged the team quote won from all the attention surrounding his return. It's a rare moment of candor from a player whose second chapter in New York never got off the ground.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
