You're tuned in to Sports Desk, let's get right to it.
Formula One is dealing with serious fallout after Sunday's rain-delayed Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia. Drivers were furious, calling conditions horrible, sad, and totally unacceptable as the sport struggled to get cars on track in the wet. When the people actually driving these machines are this vocal, the sport has a credibility problem it cannot ignore.
Shifting to the NFL, the Philadelphia Eagles got a jolt before kickoff against the Rams as Pro Bowl right tackle Lane Johnson was ruled out for personal reasons. That is a significant blow up front for Philly. Johnson is one of the best offensive linemen in the game, and whoever steps in faces an immediate, steep test against a dangerous Los Angeles front.
And Travis Kelce is closing in on football immortality. The Kansas City tight end is currently tied for seventh on the all-time NFL receptions list with Tim Brown, and needs just nine catches against the Raiders to climb all the way to fifth place. At this point in his career, Kelce is not chasing records, the records are just catching up to what he already is.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
