Baker Mayfield is sidelined, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are sweating the timeline. Sources tell ESPN the quarterback is looking at anywhere from three to six weeks away from the field, with his return hinging entirely on when he can grip a football again. That's a wide window, and a nervous one for a Bucs offense built around him.
Meanwhile in Washington, the Commanders just cannot catch a break at quarterback. Marcus Mariota was already the fallback option with Jayden Daniels unavailable, and in the first quarter against Indianapolis, he took a sack and did not return. Washington was actually in Colts territory when it happened, which makes it sting even more. The depth chart in that building is getting thin in a hurry.
Shifting to the pitch, the transfer race for Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott is heating up fast. Liverpool and Chelsea were already circling, but now Real Madrid have entered the conversation, and when Madrid come knocking, the economics of any deal shift dramatically. Scott is young, dynamic, and apparently drawing attention from the biggest clubs on the continent. This one is worth watching.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
