In the NFL, the Cowboys locker room heard some straight talk from head coach Brian Schottenheimer after Sunday's late loss to Baltimore. Schottenheimer stood in front of his players and owned the mistakes that cost Dallas the game, a rare and notable move from a first-year head coach trying to build trust fast.
Shifting to college football, Jeremiah Smith did something in Iowa City on Saturday that almost defies belief. The Ohio State wide receiver completed a career trifecta, setting program records in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns, all before most players his age have finished their sophomore year. The kid is rewriting the Buckeye record books in real time.
And on the cricket front, India captain Shubman Gill is sounding the alarm ahead of next year's ODI World Cup in South Africa. Gill says there is no time to experiment, and he's right to be concerned. Outside of Jasprit Bumrah, India's pace attack looks thin and uncertain, with Mohammed Siraj struggling badly and several key options still working through injuries.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
