You're locked in to Sports Desk, let's get after it.
Pittsburgh is making some noise and Pat Narduzzi wants the world to hear it. The Panthers moved to five and oh after a gritty thirty-five to thirty-three win over Virginia Tech, doing it without their starting quarterback. Narduzzi went straight at the AP voters afterward, telling them to wake up because he has a hell of a football team. Hard to argue.
Meanwhile, out in Evanston, Northwestern unveiled a brand new Ryan Field and the Wildcats made sure the housewarming was one to remember. Penn State walked in as a preseason top twenty-five program and walked out on the wrong end of a thirty-four to thirteen beatdown. Fireworks, flames, a light show before kickoff, and then Northwestern just handled business on the field. The building opened with a statement.
And over in the Bronx, the Yankees are heading into October with something to prove and the pitching to back it up. Aaron Judge may be navigating some uncertainty, but his teammates have made clear they are not waiting on anyone. Clean defense, dominant arms, and a roster that genuinely believes it belongs under the brightest lights the sport has to offer.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
