You're listening to Markets Desk, here's what's moving this Friday.
Corn futures are pushing sharply higher today, up nine to ten cents a contract, reclaiming all of Thursday's losses. The catalyst is spillover from a wheat-led rally driven by rising tensions in the Black Sea region, with the national average cash corn price sitting at four dollars and twenty-eight cents.
Shifting to equities and the institutional positioning picture, a fresh sweep of thirteen-F filings for the June thirtieth two thousand twenty-six reporting period shows NVIDIA held by fifty-two of the one hundred one most recently reviewed funds. Notably though, HBK Investments, SummitTX Capital, and Discovery Capital Management all exited their NVDA positions entirely, a signal worth watching given the stock's outsized weight in so many portfolios.
And on the consumer side, electric vehicle prices are rising for the first time in two thousand twenty-six. Kelley Blue Book data puts the average EV transaction price at fifty-six thousand one hundred twenty-six dollars in July, up one point six percent year over year. Two forces are driving it — tighter dealer inventory and higher gasoline prices pushing buyers back toward the segment.
That's the tape. Markets Desk, signing off the floor.
