Good morning and welcome to Markets Desk.
Corn futures are clawing back early Friday after a rough Thursday session that erased much of Wednesday's gains. Contracts are up five to six cents this morning following a five to nine cent pullback at Thursday's close, with open interest rising more than eleven thousand five hundred contracts, signaling active positioning in the grain complex.
Shifting to fixed income, the iShares U.S. Treasury Bond ETF, ticker GOVT, saw a significant inflow of roughly two hundred sixty one million dollars over the past week, a zero point six percent increase in shares outstanding. That kind of move into Treasuries suggests investors are still seeking safety and duration exposure amid ongoing uncertainty around rates and macro conditions.
And on the corporate front, Disney's new chief executive Josh D'Amaro told CNBC that the parks division was a genuine surprise to the upside last quarter, crediting the company's focus on storytelling, intellectual property, and technology as the pillars of its growth strategy. D'Amaro emphasized that Disney now has what he called clarity and stability, a notable signal for investors who have watched the company navigate years of internal turbulence and streaming investment pressure.
That's the tape. Markets Desk, signing off the floor.
