Over in Cleveland, Angel Martínez put on a show against the White Sox with a performance nobody saw coming. The Guardians third baseman launched a grand slam and finished the night with a career-high six runs batted in, powering Cleveland to an eight to two victory. That win trims Chicago's division lead to just two games, and the AL Central race just got a whole lot tighter.
And some tough news out of Cincinnati tonight. Hunter Greene is done for the season. The Reds right-hander will undergo surgery on his ailing right elbow after a second opinion confirmed what the team feared. Greene had been one of baseball's most electrifying arms, and losing him is a significant blow to a Reds club still fighting to stay relevant in the National League.
