The Los Angeles Dodgers are in a rough stretch, dropping six straight heading into Phoenix to face the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field this weekend. Sitting at sixty-nine and forty-six, the Dodgers desperately need to right the ship, and relief may be coming sooner than later.
That relief has a name — Blake Snell. Manager Dave Roberts confirmed Friday that Snell will rejoin the rotation Tuesday against Kansas City, and trade deadline acquisition Tarik Skubal is also set to make his Dodger Stadium debut around that same time. A rotation suddenly getting healthy is exactly what this team needs to snap out of a dangerous slide.
Meanwhile across the Atlantic, Liverpool are closing in on a significant defensive addition. The Reds are near a deal to bring Uruguay centerback Ronald Araujo over on a season-long loan from Barcelona, with a purchase option attached. Araujo is a physical, commanding presence at the back, and if this deal gets done, Arne Slot's squad just got considerably more dangerous heading into the new Premier League campaign.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
