Game two of the NBA Finals is underway tonight with the Knicks looking to go up two-nothing on the Spurs, and if last night's numbers are any indication, the whole country is watching. Game one pulled in nearly seventeen million viewers on Wednesday, making it one of the most-watched Finals openers in years. The Knicks and Spurs are delivering must-see basketball at exactly the right moment.
Speaking of must-see, Scottie Scheffler is at the Memorial Tournament in Columbus and even Jack Nicklaus himself is raising an eyebrow. The Golden Bear told a national television audience that Scheffler is, quote, not playing his best, that's for sure. High praise this is not, but Scheffler made the cut and is still in the hunt as the two-time defending champion at Nicklaus's own event.
And shifting to the diamond, USC stormed back against North Carolina in Game one of their Super Regional in Chapel Hill. The Tar Heels loaded the bases early and looked poised to take control, but the Trojans answered and grabbed the win, putting themselves one victory away from the College World Series.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
