Fewer customers are walking through the doors, but those who do are spending more per visit — a dynamic that's lifting margins and giving investors renewed confidence in the value retail trade.
Shifting to commodities, cotton futures are extending their correction into Thursday, down as much as forty-eight points on the session after Wednesday's broad losses. A stronger dollar, sitting just above ninety-nine on the index, and crude oil sliding nearly four and a half dollars to eighty-nine forty-one are both adding downward pressure to the fiber market.
Meanwhile, soybeans are catching a bid this morning, trading seven to nine cents higher after a mixed close Wednesday.
