Vegas is Stanley Cup bound. The Golden Knights completed a sweep of the Colorado Avalanche Tuesday night, with Cole Smith's third period goal standing as the winner in a two to one victory. Vegas returns to the Cup Final, and the Avs are left with serious questions heading into the offseason.
Meanwhile in the Bronx, history was made with a bat in hand. The New York Yankees became the first team in franchise history to have every single starter record at least two hits in a single game, piling up twenty four total in a fifteen to one demolition of the Kansas City Royals. Every player in that lineup contributed, and it wasn't close from the jump.
And in Oklahoma City, the Thunder are one win away from advancing. Oklahoma City used a balanced, team-wide effort to beat San Antonio one hundred twenty seven to one fourteen, taking a three to two series lead. Role players delivered again, and Mark Daigneault's system continues to prove it doesn't need one guy to carry the load.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
