Philip Rivers is heading back to Raleigh, and NC State is betting everything on a hometown legend. The former NFL quarterback, whose number seventeen is already retired by the Wolfpack, has agreed to take over as head coach, per reports from The Athletic and On Three. Seventeen seasons in the league, now he trades the pocket for the sideline at his alma mater. Big swing for a program hungry to matter again.
Meanwhile, a serious situation unfolding in Detroit. Lions linebacker Jack Campbell remains hospitalized after suffering a neck injury against the Vikings last Sunday, and according to CBS's pregame coverage, the young defender is determined to play football again. That kind of resolve means something, but the priority right now is his health, full stop. The Lions and their fans are watching and waiting.
And across the Atlantic, the NFL's global push rolled on in Madrid, where Ja'Marr Chase and the Cincinnati Bengals dismantled the Atlanta Falcons thirty-four to seventeen. Chase was electric, the crowd was electric, and the league continues proving that football's appetite overseas is very real and very loud.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
